Eligibility: Qualifications:
- The candidate must have studied
the relevant subject carrying 200 marks at Bachelor’s level except for M.A. Education,
History, International Relations, Urdu, Law and Mass Communication & Media Studies.
- (a)
Forty five percent marks in aggregate or in relevant subject/discipline (wherever
applicable). (b) In case of a student seeking admission to MA Education,
History, Urdu or Mass Communication, 30 marks will be added while working out merit
if the student has studied the relevant subject as elective at Bachelor’s level.
- Candidates must have studied English
as a compulsory subject at Bachelor’s level. Candidates holding BSc degree who have
studied English as a compulsory subject carrying 100 marks or any other program
having less than 200/800 proportion are not eligible
for admission to MA English.
- The above rules are a general
guideline for the admissions. The merit shall be determined
by the concerned department according to the criteria approved by the competent
authority.

Age Limit:
-
26 years on due date of Admission Notice except for admission to MBA (Executive)
and M.Sc. (IT) for which age limit is 40 and for MEd age limit 45 years.
- No age relaxation shall be granted
whatsoever is the case.
Open Merit Seats:
(a) Seventy five percent of the total seats shall be filled on
open merit basis including students of the University of Sargodha. (b)
Twenty five percent of the total seats shall be reserved for students of the University
of Sargodha.
Note:
- Merit shall be worked out category
wise as follows: BA/BSc marks + Marks in the relevant subject (not applicable to
MBA programme).
- A University of Sargodha graduate
shall be upgraded automatically to open merit seats after his/her admission on 25%
quota reserved for such graduates if he falls in the merit of category (a).
The final enrolment of any programme shall consist of 75% students including the
students of University of Sargodha admitted on the basis of category (a) and 25%
exclusively those of University of Sargodha, admitted on the basis of category
(b).
Reserved Seats (Inconvertible):
- One seat in each discipline for
spouse/son/daughter of working teachers of the University of Sargodha in order of
preference as prescribed by the University.
- One seat in each discipline for
employees of the University of Sargodha.
- One seat in each discipline for
disabled candidates.
- One seat for Armed Forces Personnel
in each discipline.
- One seat for children of Shaheeds/War
Disabled/ Retired/Working Armed forces personnel.
- One seat in each discipline for
FATA, Gilgit and Baltistan.
- One seat in each discipline for
AJK.
- One seat in each discipline for
Balochistan.
- One seat in each discipline (morning
programmes only) for sportsmen except Faculty of Science & Technology.
Attendance Required Seventy
five percent in each paper/subject.
Documents Required
to Apply:
- SSC (Matric) certificate (one
photocopy).
- F.A./F.Sc. certificate (One photocopy).
- B.A./B.Sc. Or equivalent Degree
(one photocopy).
- Character Certificate from the
institution last attended (one photocopy) / Certificate from Magistrate 1st Class/Gazetted
Officer of grade 17 & above (for private candidates only).
- Coloured photographs 1.5 x 1.5
(four).
- Hifz-e-Quran Certificate (if applicable,
one photocopy).
- Domicile Certificate only for
reserved seats of FATA, AJK, Gilgit, Baltistan and Balochistan.
- Sports certificates (one photocopy
of each, if applicable).
Rules (applicable to all categories)
Attendance and Leave Rules:
- Chairpersons of the respective
departments
shall have the authority to grant leave and maintain record.
- Ordinarily a student shall be
allowed to avail 3 leaves in a month.
- In extra-ordinary circumstances,
leave up to 5 days per month may be granted.
- Medical Leave may be granted if
a student provides Medical Certificate issued by the Medical Supdtt. of the respective
District Headquarters Hospital (District of his/her domicile) and countersigned
by the Medical Officer of the University.
- Duty leave may be granted on the
recommendation of the Incharge of a Game/Society. Such recommendation must be sent
before a student proceeds to participate in a game or co-curricular activity.
- Medical leave or leave on other
grounds shall not be counted against attendance.
- Exemption may be granted to the
sportsmen or to the students taking part in co-curricular activities, which in no
case, shall exceed 16 days in an academic year or 8 days in a semester.
Fine:
-
A fine @ Rs. 5/- per period and
@ Rs. 10/- at the maximum per day shall be imposed for remaining absent without
leave.
- Special fine may be imposed in
case of indiscipline and irregularity/misconduct.
Remission
of Fine:
Fine is not remittable except with the special permission of the Vice-Chancellor.
Struck-off & Re-admission:
-
The name of the student shall
be struck off, if he/she remains absent for 7 days or more in a month in any subject
continuously or otherwise.
- A student falling in one of the
following categories may be allowed re-admission, provided he/she applies for re-admission
within due date. a. non-payment of dues. b. non-appearance in the Test. c. remaining absent from classes
for 7 days or more in a month in any subject continuously or otherwise. d. for any other reason stipulated
under rules, or mentioned in the struck off notification issued by the authorities.
- Re-admission
fee is Rs. 500.00.
- A student may be re-admitted only once in an academic year.
Scholarships:
Scholarships shall be granted as per the University rules & regulations to;
- The 1st three position holders
of BA/BS examinations who got admission in the University.
- The needy and deserving students.
- Those students who got positions
in the semester.
- The special/disabled students.
HEC Scholarships: HEC-Japanese Need-Based Scholarships are also available to the
needy students. Application form for the scholarship can be had from the office
of the Director Academics or downloaded from the University Website.
Bus Card:
-
Every student will be provided a Bus Card soon after his/her admission.
- Duplicate Bus Card will be issued only once on payment of Rs. 50/- .
Only for Faculty
of Management & Administrative Sciences:
MBA
Entry Test qualification conducted by Department of Business Administration.
Academic Eligibility:
Graduation with minimum 45% of marks.
Test weightage:
The weightage of entry
test vis-a-vis the previous academic performance in Graduation will be 30:70.
Additional
Marks in merit calculation:
-
Additional Marks @ 1.25% will be added to academic percentage for the subject of
Mathematics, Statistics and Economics.
- 3.75% will be
added for having BBA or B.Com in Graduation.
- 2.5% will be added
in the percentage of Hafiz-e-Quran.
MS Economics:
-
Academic Eligibility: Graduation with minimum 45% of marks.

Subject marks: Total marks obtained in the subject of Economics
will be added in Graduation marks for calculation of merit.
- Additional
marks in merit calculation:
-
Additional marks @ 1.25% will be added to academic percentage for the subject of
Mathematics and Statistics.
- 2.5% will be added
in the percentage of Hafiz-e-Quran. Quota of Sargodha University Students will be
observed in all Programs as per rules.
